Birthday For Mason
My Nephew’s birthday is coming up and I sadly won’t be in town for it. I went into his room and found his walls to be a bit bare. I ask him what Ninja Turtle was his favorite and with this mother’s permission I started to paint on his wall.

I didn’t have tons of time and I would have liked to paint all four turtles on his walls time didn’t permit. He is turning 6 this year and thinks the world of me and I think the same of him. I hope my art inspires my nephew to be creative not only in art but in life as well. Happy Birthday Mason.-DML
Final Logo Design.
A few weeks ago I made a post about a logo creation project I completed for my image manipulation class. After a long debate period l finally made my choice of what logo design was the best one for me.I wanted the design to be simple, stylish, and versatile. Simple designs interest me because they are still interesting though simple. I wanted a Stylish design so that my logo could compete with other brands and stick out in the minds of the viewer. Overall the versatility of my logo is the most important to me. I want my logo to evolve with me. My logo would be able to Change to become relevant If need be. Overall this was hard for me, I liked all of my designs but there could be only one .

As you can see the colors I choose contrast each other very well creating a interesting design. I feel this captures the eye and helps the view remember the logo thus creating a lasting impression in their mind. This logo can evolve over time and become something different and familiar at the same time. The Pepsi logo comes to mind in that regard, it’s simple and fun. I designed a card, postcard, letterhead, and envelope. The envelope is was you are viewing now. I am not completely satisfied with the design but due to time constrains this was the the out come. I intend to keep working on the design in the future. -DML
Create A Logo
This assignment was pretty easy for me but I was forced to take more time on it than I would have normally. This assignment was designed so that we had to take steps that a design team would if tasked to make a logo.

I started off with some pen and pencil concept ideas. This would aid me to later as I could come back and look at ideas I liked and ones that I didn’t. Doing this made the creation of the logo easy as I could mix and match what I liked and cut the things I didn’t. I could be completely creative and think clearly about what I wanted the logo to look like and I came up with some interesting concepts. I wanted to include something with my initials but latte in the concept I decided to make a video game developer logo.

Once the concept phase was complete I had to pick three of my concepts and refine them. Each concept had to be designed with three variants giving me nine logos to choose form. After a class room review I received some positive feed back. The “eye spy” tower logo was said to have a strong and ” big brother” like feel to it. The cell and pixel designs reachieved more attention then the other two. As of right now this project is still in development. I will be posting the out come soon and I will leave you with one of my logos that got left at the cutting room floor.

- Logo that was cut during the concept period.
Paper Mario!

I decided to do this piece just for fun. I have been messing around with new Photoshop skills I’ve learned over the month. I think the idea came out pretty good, I used images of construction paper to get the effect I wanted. After that I used the DROP shadow effect to give Mario a 3D appearance. I hope you like it, please leave questions or comments below.-DML

Flesh Movie Poster

For my image manipulation class we were tasked to make a move poster.
I have had this zombie theme going for the past few week so I decided to
just go with it. I got most of my images from Google and did a lot of design
research on movie posters to get the look just right. I hope you enjoy it.
